Make sure you and your family are protected and stay up to date with all recommended and required vaccinations. Prosperity Pharmacy’s certified pharmacy staff administers many vaccinations to keep our patients from contracting harmful diseases.
We offer the following vaccinations:
The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older. With cold weather fast approaching, now is a good time to get vaccinated it typically takes about two weeks after vaccination for protection to set in.
For patients who are 60 years old and older, the CDC recommends they receive the shingles vaccine to prevent shingles and related diseases.
Zostavax® is the only shingles vaccine currently approved for use in the United States. It reduces the risk of patients developing shingles by 50% and is given in one injection here at Prosperity Pharmacy.
Pneumococcal infections can range from ear and sinus infections to pneumonia. Pneumonia infections of the lungs can cause illness in people of all ages, with adults older than 65 and children younger than 2 years old most at risk, as well as smokers and patients with certain underlying conditions. Pneumonia can often be prevented and can usually be treated – talk to our staff for more information arranging your vaccination today.
Tdap is a combination vaccine that protects patients against three bacterial diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough).
Tetanus is a rarity in the US these day, but if contracted it can cause painful muscle tightening and stiffness, usually all over the body. About 10% of patients infected with Tetanus will fall victim even after receiving the best medical care.
Diptheria is another rare disease here in the US, and often causes a thick coating to form in the back of the throat which can lead to breathing problems, heart failure, paralysis, and even death.
Pertussis is also known as Whooping Cough and causes bouts of severe coughing often causing difficulty breathing, vomiting, and in some cases, hospitalization.
